Seasonal Flowers: Working With the Season  
There’s a reason flowers have seasons. When we work with what is naturally growing well, the flowers are better quality, fresher, and usually more beautiful too. They tend to last better, smell better, and just feel more alive. It also means we are not relying on flowers that have been flown in or grown under intense heat and light all year round. Instead, we plan around what is actually doing well in the fields and polytunnels at that time of year. Spring brings Narcissi and Ranunculus, summer brings Roses and Sweet peas, autumn gives us Zinnias and Cosmos, and winter has its own quieter beauty with evergreens, berries and Hellebores.

Mechanics
The flowers in your arrangements will already be renewable and compostable - the problem is with the scaffolding underneath… the bit no one sees !! We use completely foam-free mechanics in our floral designs,  No matter how big or small the arrangement or in stallion, we will take our time to work out suitable sustainable techniques - you will not see any floral foam in our arrangements!

No Pesticides: Clean Flowers, Grown Carefully
Everything we grow is pesticide-free. That matters to us because it is more beneficial for the soil as well as the insects and pollinators. It is better for the people handling the flowers, and healthier for the guests enjoying them at weddings and events.  We work with nature. Companion planting helps us do that. Some plants support each other, some help keep pests away, and some bring in the insects we want to see in the garden. It does take more work. We are out there checking crops, pulling weeds by hand, watching for pests and trying to keep everything balanced without reaching for chemicals. It is slower, but it is worth it. We want our flowers to be clean from the root up.  

Perennials: Flowers That Come Back
We are growing more and more perennials in the field to use in our designs. They return each year, so they need less replanting, less water than thirsty annuals and fewer resources overall. Climate change is bringing warmer summers so rethinking the way we plant is essential for the future.

Seasonal- Grown: Keeping It Close
We always start with the same question: can we grow it in our climate? If the answer is yes, that is usually where we begin. Growing and sourcing seasonal flowers means fresher stems, less miles travelled as well as supporting other local growers

A Living Practice
For us, sustainability is not something you tick off once and forget about. It is an ongoing process. We are always testing, learning and making small adjustments. New varieties, new planting combinations, more perennials, better seasonal planning - it all forms part of the same picture.
